MY Chinese New Year 2006...

Hey girls… it has been pretty quiet here… I wonder if it’s because everyone’s busy with CNY celebration or too busy.. I guess both… I was busy with pre CNY celebration.. well.. that includes helping mom cleaning and decorating the house, preparing for the family BBQ so called party on first day of CNY! CNY this year was.. well… pretty occupied… felt really tired though… maybe I did a lot of things and the holidays was short… and now I’m back to work again L. Supposingly yesterday but heck, most people is still on holidays, and will only officially start working today so, I took leave instead…. Hope everyone had a great CNY…May’s as usual, family vacation during CNY, Hu Nee, well, I did not get to see her at all after our drinks in sidewalk 2 days before CNY cos she’s too busy.. so is LB… and Memek too.. hahaha..

My CNY well, celebrations starts 2 days before CNY.. haha… tat is because we had prayers to my dad’s side family, my ancestors and grandparents n so…. So as usual, dad is the one cooking for the day, so woke up early tat day…decorated the house, panjaat here n there, hanging my newly bought pineapple lanterns, dressed up my throw pillows on my living room with newly bought CNY pillow case, .. and helped my sis with the jam tart cookies.. I hope there’s still some left so the one’s interested can have a try.. haha.. it’s all home made.. even the jam is made by my mom.. yum!! tat night, went out with May, Memek, Goh, Hu Nee and LB. went to sidewalk, had drinks and chat…took some photos… met few ppl around… well, our juniors, pei chen, pui ling, van ling and nam hong with their batch’s Ibrahim guys if I’m not mistaken… then saw yin thong at the next table and Hu Nee’s Chong Yee was with the Tunku guys… went back around 12… as usual… we are all Cinderellas… ahahah.. May fetched me, memek and ah Goh… dropped memek and goh but we were talking too much, we just don wan to stop… we proceed with out chit chatting in the car until 1 then me n May decided it’s time to go home!!! Made our appointments for a walk at UTC market the next morning… LB was also in the list when we mentioned earlier at sidewalk but she wasn’t there the next morning…. Not sure y… either we couldn’t contact her or u couldn’t come.. not sure cos goh was the one calling…

The always famous signature Cornflakes cookies, mommy's recipe on the left and jam tarts on the right.. all homemade by my sis... me, kitchen helper only... hahaha... there are few more.. oso made by my sis... i sit n become the taster only ler... hahaha...

CNY essentials.... Mandarin oranges... sunflower seeds and peanuts.. not forgetting the non halal oily fatty Kiew Brothers "bak kua"... yummy... muahahaha...

Home decorations... mom did the flower arrangement, i got the gold ingots and dressed up dad's wine bottles.... got the cute lil cheongsams from Feringghi, 3 for RM 10

Mom got new curtains made... i got the pillowcases.. all also from Feringghi... RM 10 per pair...

CNY eve…. Early morning.. may called me at 7:30am.. I slept pretty late the night earlier.. reached home at around1 plus… then I watched tv until 4 then only I sleep and May called me at 7:30 am!!!! 45 minutes before she was suppose to fetch me… aih.. I was like.. har.. this cha bo.. so early call me..kek si wa!! Anyways, I continues to sleep.. haha.. cos I had my alarm on at 8:00… but before my alarm goes off, I woke up, dragged my big fat ass, had a mandi kerbau and went down to wait for may.. she was late at usual.. but some improvement.. late 5 minutes this time… hahaha… so we went to fetch Goh then went to UTC market.. may have to buys some vege for her mom and also some panties… hahaha.. goh bought a couple too… I wanted to buy but have already bought a lot when I was in penang.. so I told my self I have to stop… hahaha… cos I bought like I think more than 10!!! Also bought in market but it’s a morning market nearby my place.. hehe…I bought some things for steamboat and also for my BBQ….then 3 of us went to nearby stall for breakfast, had wan tan mee and continue chatting from the night before… wasted la u all not around cos we were walking down memory lane… story that began at 1990… hahaaha.. Standard 1….anyways, we were only half way… will continue when all of us gather together again… cos there’s so many things for us to laugh about…. We were kids… of course we were naïve and childish.. hahah… anyways, may had to go home earlier as she have a lot of preparation to make.. afterall, her flight was 11pm that night… so after breakfast, we send goh home, bid bye bye, may dropped me home and I went back to nap… ahhahaha.. was too sleepy… woke up and haha… for my family, we are different… usually, people will have steamboat for family reunion at night but for my family, we have steamboat reunion, full day.. so, for lunch, it’s steamboat, same for dinner.. hahaahah… after lunch, went out for last round shopping for BBQ and pizza essentials.. went home, drop dead tired… nap a lil while, bathe my jacky and then it’s time for dinner again… after dinner, I proceed with my pizza base making.. this year I made 6 large pizzas… haha.. all habis… luckily.. or else my mom will be scolding me who cny for wasting food! Hahaha… then wathed tv.. online a lil while… while waiting for my pizza dough to rise, bake n everything, only finish doing everything at 3 something… went straight to sleep after that…..

First day of CNY… woke up late that morning.. it was nearly noon already… hahaha… mom was cooking nothing as she said, no need cook la.. today eat pizza can already… so woke up and start preparing the ingredients, put everything on the pizza base made earlier that night, into the oven and viola…pizza was served.. hahahha…then marinate the chicken for the night’s BBQ, preparing salad and stuffs, sat in the kitchen whole day… I was the sous chef for the day!! Haha… alex came first day of CNY, so we also spent our time in the kitchen… haha… in the evening, my bro start the fire for the bbq while I start taking out food to get ready for the BBQ before my relatives arrive. Was too busy, I forgot to take pictures… haha.. we had 5 spice chicken wings, bbq sauce marinated chicken wings, tandoori chicken, satay, corn, sausages, Taiwanese sausages, chicken cocktail, shrimp, shrimp salad and pizza! Not much food though but luckily it’s just nice… not less too! Went to sleep straight after whole day of hard work.. hahaha….

What is CNY without ang pows?? this is CNY must have!! hahaha....

My pizza... a lil bit out of shape.. i know.. haha.. this year lazy.. made only 2 flavour of pizza... Island Supreme and the Tom Yam flavoured... i got myself a baguette too and made garlic bread... hehehe

Second day of CNY- for my family, second day is a celebration for my mom’s family…because my mom have a very big family and we do not know who to visit who, so it has been a tradition when one’s place is choose and we will gather there… previously, when my grandma was still here, we would gather in her place… my mom siblings are 11 people including her… and some of my cousins who are already married also join in the crowd with their children… this year is my youngest auntie’s place…. Luckily, it’s nearby my place.. less than 5 inutes drive.. so I can take the advantage to sleep more… woke up at 11 something, bathe and have to wait for my bro cos my parents and my sis had left earlier… went to my aunts place.. relatives were everywhere, every corner, you can find someone… haha…had lunch… chit chat… collect ang pows… what’s CNY without ang pows… ahaahha…and CNY is never complete without playing cards.. gamble.. that is…too bad, lost 6 bucks.. hahaha…then at night after dinner, they proceed to my place.. for a karaoke session…while the men sit on the second living room with their activities, we had the main living room for our activities… it was already 1am by the time everyone left… I sat on the living room, watched tv until 5am.. hahaha.. then only I went to bed…..

Third day of CNY was particularly a rest day for me…. I sat at home wathed tv the whole day until at night, we all went to Ai Ling’s place.. this year, it’s the same person as last year’s, me, goh and en but we have another extra person… Ming Yee… reached her place.. chit chat, played with her dogs… had a friendly game of Cho Dai Di… then Mr Cinderella had to leave cos he forgot his keys, so he fetch En and Goh home.. I was at Ai ling’s place until 1am.. was watching Raising Helen… went home, continue to watch tv again… until 5 again…watch the super trio show… was laughing my ass off, really loud, it was late, everyone was sleeping but just couldn’t help it.. it was just too funny…

Fourth day of CNY… yesterday… was suppose to be my working day… cos they replace our holiday earlier to Friday.. 2 days before CNY.. as I mentioned earlier.. I took leave.. but I had to come back pg also that night.. so I do my laundry, pack my stuffs… bathed my Jacky boy and at 7, drove back pg.. it was raining pretty heavy and it was jammed at the plaza toll as there was an accident… I reach home at 8:45pm… nearly 2 hours journey! Dropped my Jacky boy home and Alex came to fetch me to his cousin’s.. there, we join the couple and also another couple.. if u all could still remember, Benjamin’s parents.. went over their place at Sunny Ville for another steamboat dinner… it was fun… after dinner, we had Siam Blackjack, was not my lucky night.. hahaha.. I lost 20 somehting bucks… but good thing Alex won 80 bucks… he gave me half of his winnings… hahaha….. went home pretty late already.. well. Considered late as the next day(today) still have to work.. it was nearly 3am when I hopped on the bed.. have to wake up at 7 as work starts at 8.. but.. haha..

Fifth Day of CNY, (TODAY) I slept till 7:30am, then only I went to bathe. Reached work around 8:05… there are still loads of parking.. cos usually, I would have to park in lane 3 already.. today, I get to park at lane 1… yeah.. parking will usually be full but today’ it’s not even half occupied.. most of them are still on CNY holidays… one of them is my sis… hahaha… came in to work today, start checking my mails, and start working….. good things everything was done before I left for my lunch nap.. haha…went home for a nap.. not enough sleep… came back to work.. well… still in the holiday mood, frankly speaking… but what to do.. no work, no $$... so now, too free, I start blogging ler… since no one update anything yet about CNY… so, I’ll be the first one.. hahaha…

*I know… it’s a very long post… I know too some of u are too lazy to read.. it’s okay… I’m too free now… typing non stop eh.. hehehehe
