Dinner at Mario's 05th Nov 2005

Went to Mario's Batu Feringghi last nite with Alex, marking our 3rd year together... ok.. i know some might not be happy about this.. sigh.. sorry for letting u girls down.. Anyway, main purpose is actually to share on what we had, how the environment's like, the food and so.... cos i did mentioned Mario's in the proposal...

SERVICE
Service was really good.... maybe cos they serve a lot of tourists... went in and one of the lady waitress there, young indian lady greet us with a smile and asked us, "would you like to have a table here by the window?" english well spoken, and polite... have us seated and lay napkins for us...gave us menu for food and also drinks... while we were stull deciding, she came to ask us if we wanted some wine or do we want to start with some drinks first....when food was served, she walked to us and said "Bon appetit and enjoy your meals" so, for me, the service was great... and i was snapping photos around, she did came to offer to take our photos before i even had the chance to ask... haha...

FOOD

The Appetizer, Prawn Cocktail at RM 14.50
Local fresh king prawns (jumbo shrimps) served on a bed of lettuce and cubed pineapple topped with homemade coctail dressing and a fresh lemon wedge.

Alex's Peppercrusted New York Steak at RM 46.00
Grilled to your liking, prime center cut seasoned with cracked black peppercorns. Sliced and served with chef's special Italian rice, daily vegetables and creamy peppercorn. Another juicy and tender piece, not too peppery, perfect to my liking...

My main course, Petit Di Pollo at RM 26.50
Marinated chicken breast, topped with mushroom, napoletana or brown sauce. Served with sauteed potatoes and vegetables.

A closer look at my main course, grilled to perfection, juicy n tender...the brown sauce is great... yum yum... perfect to my tastebuds....

Everything paired up with a glass of apple juice at RM6.90

To round things off, their signature dessert, Tiramisu, is a must. The Italian cheese cake flavoured with Kahlua and lemon, made using masacapone cream cheese is absolutely heavenly.

Tiramisu at RM 12.80
Layers of espresson soaked cake and sweetened mascarpone cheese powdered chocolate. Moist and yummy, 2 thumb ups for both taste and presentation.. best tiramisu i've ever tasted so far...

ENVIRONMENT

me and the orchids.. hehe.. each table is decorated with fresh orchids....

table setting is simple and nice.. with salt and pepper and a vase of orchids

Dimly lit, accompanied with love songs from the 80's... not a super fine dining place... but overall, not bad....

PRICE

i have to admit it's a lil bit pricey but worth it all with great service, good food and pleasant environment....

Total bill - RM 129.61.. once in a while can la.. everyday like that can bankrupt ler.. haha
